Little Baby Spunga
I was writting a friend a letter and became captivated by the eyes of her baby in a photo. I drew a cartoon version on scratch paper immediatly, then became inspired to try and see if I could fuse unrealisticly sized features onto a "realistic" drawing. So,.. realistic in nature, cartoon at heart.
Park Fued
This is a picture I drew a long time ago (2 years ago). I wanted to begin drawing in a new style, and at the same time incorporate a drawing into an actual picture. Up to this point I hadn't really drawn complete works. Just doodles and single framed comics. Oh, and this is my first time using any kind of color. I haven't learned any 'photoshop' programs yet, but I'm planning on teaching myself soon.
Pea Soup #6 (Writters Block AGAIN)
Pea Soup #5
Pea Soup #4
Pea Soup #3 (Writters Block)
Now, I get writters or "creativeness" block when i get pressured with time. So Here's the first time I got pressured with time. In the end I figured it was better to meet the dead-line then to not have anything submitted to the college newspaper.
Oh, and it's not my intent to just make fun of older people, and I felt guilty about the 'diapers' comment being the punch-line to the joke. Otherwise, I thought it would be cool to have an actual time-line of male exsistence from left to right. Starts with a baby, goes to younger men, then to the old man.
Pea Soup #2
Here is the second comic I have ever drawn. I found that the last cartoon didn't take place anywhere. They were just standing in nothingness. So this comic I had them "be" somewhere. The 'funniness' to the comic didn't need anyone to conversate with, but obviously needed someone to talk to. In my experience there are old people who talk too much, and those who don't talk at all. Here are both.
PeaSoup
This is my first attempt ever at a 3-panelled comic. I started this series of comic for Messiah Colleges newspaper, "The Swinging Bridge". I figuresd a Comic about the differences in generations would be fun in a college newspaper.
Originally I was going to call the cartoon, "Gramps" because even though its about the gaps between generations in America, I wanted to let the readers know that the old guy was the main character. I decided that "Gramps" just didn't sound good and it was a little too strait forward. So I came up with "Pea Soup". There's some kind of expression about situations being as clear as pea soup, and this comic was going to be about two generations who can't see eye-to-eye. Plus, pea soup is a soup that older people tend to eat, so it does the job of letting you know who the main character is.
