Warious Occasion

This is just one of my many examples of where i get really excited about what the end product is going to look like,.. so i kind of skip thinking about what would make the picture looks its best. I should have spent more time on making the background more interesting and getting some more soldiers in there. Even the farther away, third soldier back there, I wipped through real quick and didn't give enough attention to.

Long Time: No Post

So after not having posted anything on my blog, I thought I'd just start with putting up some Head doodles. One of these pictures takes up almost an entire page of paper while the other only takes up,.. maybe an 1/8 of paper. I was trying to see what differences the size of drawings would have.

Pea Soup #10

Ok, So if you didn't notice, "Gramps" had a heart attack and dies. Why? Why did I do it? Well.. 'Pea Soup' was a learning experience and a "pushing" experience for me. Not only did I adapt my comic format to an irregular size, but I've also pushed away from always using medium distance framing. ( which Pea Soup #10 is a Medium distance, but its not a standard for Pea Soup) In the end I thought I'd push just a little more and have "Gramps" have a heart attack, because it may just be the most "uncomic" thing to do. I wonder if its been done at all before this? Well.. for comics with main characters anyways.

OH!! If you think you've caught a mistake I made by having him grab his right chest instead of his left (left being the side with the heart), you may just have. I intentionally did this because I decided I would look better to have him grab with his right arm. Most people wouldn't grab with thier left arm, but unfortunatly "Gramps" arm isn't long enough to reach. oh well.

Pea Soup #9

This one should be pretty strait forward. The only thing to comment on is the fact that I loosley based the band characters after my roommate and some guys he "banded" together with for a talent show night.

I don't know if this needs confirming, but I'm not really making fun of the band or the old guys. It's my hope that when college kids read my cartoon, they'll already have a rebuttle to what 'Gramps' says. My cartoon "Pea Soup" just plays with the merky 'pea soupy' misunderstanding between two generations.

Illustration Friday - Fortune

They called him, Nickel Pete. Besides a slight tendency to loose grips with reality, he was an all right guy. When he would find a discarded soda can he would celebrate with a holler and a mild cough. It's been rumoured that between the load in his stolen shopping cart and a hidden stash (still unknown to this very day) that Nickel Pete has well over $85 dollars in cans. He has yet to cash them in and some think that he never will, because sometimes fortune lies outside of value and worth. He may not have a home, financial stability or clean clothes; but then again, you don't have $85 dollars in discarded cans.

Illustration Friday - Green

Ok, So not only is this my first submition to "illustration friday", but this is my first time using PhotoShop. I didn't want to submit anything until I could use PhotoShop but Now that I see that I'm horrible at PhotoShop. From now on I'm just going to stick to drawing and coloring by hand.

OH! If you're wonder what this has to do with "green", my idea started with a guy vomiting. (Green face, green vomit) Then I thought that if he's going to have a green face, why not just make him a zombie.
